Hometown heroes — with updates

I want to start publishing a “Hometown Heroes” feature in the newspaper this year based on athletes who have left our area and are playing collegiate (or even professional sports). Obviously, it’ll start with football — so I need your help telling me who they are.

Here’s my VERY preliminary list off the top of my head of football players — add others in the comments…

Leon Best (North Lenoir) — East Carolina

Quinton Coples (Kinston) — North Carolina

Matt Jones (South Lenoir) — Campbell

Russell Rouse (North Lenoir) — N.C. Wesleyan

ENCMetalhead: I checked the Wesleyan and Methodist Web sites, but they still have the 2007 rosters up; they haven’t updated to 2008 yet.
