My take: I spoke to two sports marketing classes at South Lenoir today and was asked who I thought would win the game. Yes, I took some heat when I said “North Lenoir.” You’ll get my official prediction in Friday’s paper.

By the way — thanks to the kids in both of Sue Novicki’s classes for some outstanding questions and a really good time. Janet Sutton and I both enjoyed our time there immensely.

It’s official. The world as we know it is over.

Bryan Hanks is addressing our youth from a position of authority.

    Lord help us…

How’s it go? Oh yeah … I kid, I kid.

Top ten comments the students prpbably made after hearing from Mr. Hanks:

    10. I can see why the paper makes so many mistakes.
    9. He said he was Tom Hanks brother. Yeah…right
    8. It was brave of him to admit he was dropped as a child.
    7. He’s ok but he smelled like printer’s ink.
    6. Well, as class speakers go, we have hit bottom.
    5. I heard the only Free Press person who does less than Hanks is that Holmes fella. Is he even still there?
    4. Mr. Hank’s talk really inspired me. I’ve decided to run away from home and join the circus.
    3. Someone said the only rung down the ladder from the Kinston paper was the one in Fed’ville.
    2. I met that Kraebel fellow. And now Hanks. Do they have any normal people working there?

    1. I hope the state can get our mental health crisis solved. There‘s obviously a big need.

Surge, you are the man (or woman).
