Does anyone else think the was the dumbest bracket setup ever as far as game #13 being played? I mean seriously if you’re going to play double elimination make it straight double elimination.

ECPirates11, I DON’T KNOW ABOUT THE DUMBEST, BUT I DO KNOW IT WAS A GREAT FUNDRAISER FOR OUR POST 43 LEGION TEAMS. The gate today was great, with three teams playing. BUT I do have a few complaints about some VERY obnoxious parents on some of the teams. When the sign says NO COOLERS allowed and parents STILL try sneak them in and lie and say they are going in the dugout, I have a problem with that. These folks have played AAU and Legion ball for a long time and still try the crap. What were these parents teaching their kids? It is OKAY to LIE!? I am not going to mention any names of teams or parents, so don’t even ask. I have a problem with coaches dropping the “F” and “GD” words while coaching the bases. I have a problem with PEOPLE in general telling us how they would have run this tournament. You will get your chance, run it your way then. SORRY, just had to vent!

Question for you critter? Why was the admission price changed today? I’m just a neutral baseball fan that traveled over to watch twice. Friday it was five dollars as long as you stayed. Today the sign clearly says $7.00 for the doubleheader, i go to leave in between games and ask if I need a stub to re enter. I’m told if I leave I have to pay again.
    What was the difference?
I do agree with you about the lanquage etc., I was stunned.

As I stated earlier, it was a fundraiser for Legion teams. The directors DID talk about charging $5.00 a game BUT clearing the stadium like they do in High School championship ball games but thought better of it and just charged $7.00 for a double header.
The reason you would have to pay again if you left was because we had A LOT of problems with people trying to bring in food and drinks. Kinston Legion parents and boys worked the concessions and had an awesome variety of food, pizza and hot dogs, so there was no reason to really leave.
I know it was expensive for family’s to travel this far for 5 days, eat out, and gas money, but my lord I didn’t even have a child playing and I spent A LOT of money while working the games. Grand kids can dollar you to death.

good job kinston on a well-run tournament. only complaint is that we had no information about the tourney/hotels/etc. heading into it. once we were there, everything was great. congrats on a great season to all 8 teams who participated. thanks for having us.
