Rest in peace, Sean Taylor

This just goes beyond football; Washington Redskin safety Sean Taylor has died from a gunshot he received early Monday morning in his own home.

My take: What other take could there be? This is a tragedy on so many different fronts. He had a 1-year-old daughter, he had turned his life around and it happened in his own bedroom. I truly hope they find whatever SOB did this.

On a football front — and no, I’m not trying to be heartless here — this just devastates the Redskins. They’ve already lost three in a row and now they’re without their best defender.

My heart truly aches today. Here’s a picture of Sean at training camp in 2005:

This is how I want to remember Sean, with a smile on his face and his future in front of him.

Hanks, This is a tragedy not because he was a football player but because he was so young. The true tragedy that occurs in death, in my opinion, is when a young person is out lived by their parents. That is just not the nature flow of things. Parents are suppose to bury their children…not the other way around.

Sad, sad story, about a talented young man, who seemed to have turned his life around. My prayers and thoughts are with his family during this very difficult time.

Heckuva ballplayer, who, from all reports really matured after the birth of his child. This is a tragedy on many levels, and my prayers are with his family. If there is any consolation, I don’t think there’s a better coach to be able to deal with this situation than Joe Gibbs. A truly great man, with great faith in God, he will help his team, and Sean’s family through what has got to be a terrible ordeal.
